Why concise expression is a signal of deep understanding

Compression is the hallmark of deep thought.

It is clear when I'm speaking with an expert on a topic when they can explain it in simple terms. Precise language requires more effort on the part of the speaker than the listener, which demonstrates an asymmetry of knowledge.

Conversely, agents produce reams of text without breaking a sweat. An obvious way to tell agent writing apart from that of humans is through verbosity.

There are infinitely many programs that implement a behavior. Understanding is finding the shortest description of that behavior.
